Poetry Pantry #342

Tree By Night

Good Sunday, Poets!

So good to see you today!  Didn't we have a good week at Poets United?  If you didn't see Sherry's feature of Sumana's poetry last Monday, do have a look back.  On Wednesday Sumana gave us the prompt "Nostalgia" which many of you participated in.  Be sure to scroll back and read Rosemary's Moonlight Musings feature --"How Can Poetry Save the World?"  Please take part in the discussion, if you have not already.

On Monday, be sure to return.  Sherry has prepared another "poem of the week" feature with the poems of two poets who are frequent participants here.  You won't be disappointed.  And on Wednesday Susan's Midweek Motif is "Fear."

With no further delay, please link your poem below.  Visit the poems of others who link.  (I do notice that some of you have forgotten about that part.) And be sure to say hello in comments.  Looking forward to meeting YOU on the trail. Have a great Sunday.

  3. Hello everyone, this week, am sharing a poem that's a declaration of our war, against bigots, like President Trump, wherever, you may be.

  9. Morning everyone! Rode 27 miles on my bike yesterday and ready to write! Just had breakfast, it's a beautiful day in San Mateo, CA today!

After having the worst 2 years of my life financially it looks like things have finally settled down in my life. I was almost homeless (for the first time in my life) and it was very stressful. When you are that low there is not many places to go.

I'm so glad my bike riding helped me through it. I must say, having Sherry and all of you at PU show such an interest in me and my work at that time, and meeting so many good friends through my love of poetry was the other thing that helped. Only now will I mention this, and I do because I wanted to say thank you!

Going to write a poem to post now. Have a lovely new week! Hugs!

  11. Finally settling in for a nice visit in the Pantry. What an evocative photograph you’ve chosen to illustrate our "sharing time" this week, Mary – one tree with so many branches; a living thing in night shadows (when the Pantry opens its doors in my neck of the woods) … such an eloquent image.
